Design to cover four main tourist attracted National Parks (Galways Land National Park, Horton Plains National Park, Udawalawa National Park and Yala National Park), Sinharaja Rain Forest (A World Heritage Site), Elephant and Turtle conservation centers, Whale watching to observe the biggest animal on the planet, Royal Botanic Gardens, and boat ride to experience the tropical Mangrove habitat. All the national parks, nature reserves and conservation centers hold their unique species and habitat which always give you a different exposure to different aspects of the fauna and flora in Sri Lanka with covering most of the major habitat types present in Sri Lanka. At the end of the tour you will get a time slot to do interesting shopping in the country capital Colombo.
Pickup from airport and travel to a hotel in Negombo. If required will visit the Negombo fish market, overnight stay in Negombo.
Checkout and travel to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Lunch on the way afterwards visit Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, overnight stay in Kandy.
Udawattakele Forest reserve for early morning birding. After breakfast travel to Nuwara Eliya. Evening birding in Galways National Park, Nuwara Eliya, Scout camp road. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
After early breakfast checkout and drive up to Horton Plains National Park. Arrive in Haputale for late lunch. If required short visit to small forest reserve Thangamale Sanctuary. Overnight stay in Haputhale.
After breakfast checkout and travel to Udawalawa to see baby elephant feeding at Udawalawa Elephant Transit Home and after lunch half day Jeep safari at Udawalawa National Park to see elephants in the wild. Overnight stay in Udawalwa.
Early morning birding in the hotel premises, after breakfast leave to Yala, stopping for birding if required in the tanks in Thissa. Overnight stay in Yala.
After breakfast Jeep safari in Yala National Park for leopard and Sloth Bear, overnight stay in Yala/ Thissa.
After breakfast (or packed breakfast) half day Jeep safari in Yala National Park. After late lunch travel to Mirissa for overnight stay.
Early morning at 0600hrs arrive at Mirissa harbor for Whale watching (3-4 hours in the sea to look for whales and dolphins). After lunch leave for Ahungalla to see Sea Turtles Conservation Center, if required and pre arranged can observe turtle release to the sea from the hatchery after 1830hrs (at dusk). Overnight stay in Ahungalla.
After breakfast checkout and leave for boat ride in Madu river (2 hours), Balaptiya to Mangrove forest exploration and scenic ride and afterward travel to Sinharaja for overnight stay (optional night walk to see nocturnal wildlife if required).
After breakfast bird watching in Sinharaja Rainforest, Kudawa (a World Heritage site). After lunch leave for Colombo, evening shopping and dinner in a restaurant in Colombo. Overnight stay in Colombo or suburbs.
Departure (if time prevails birding in Colombo RAMSAR wetland).
